# IBM API Connect: SQL injection lets an authenticated user run database commands

IBM API Connect versions 12.1.0.0 through 12.1.1.2 do not properly neutralize special characters in SQL commands. A remote attacker with a valid account can run arbitrary SQL against the backing database.

## How to check

Check the installed API Connect V12 version; v12.1.0.0 through v12.1.1.2 is affected (IBM lists API Connect V12 OnPrem), v12.1.1.3 contains the fix.

## Fix

Upgrade IBM API Connect V12 to v12.1.1.3 (Fix Central: https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/node/7290205). IBM lists no workarounds or mitigations.
