# IBM API Connect: missing authorization exposes other tenants' data to attackers

Link for people: https://infrastack.ai/live/CVE-2026-17066 (this .md is for agents)

IBM API Connect versions 12.1.0.0 through 12.1.1.2 lack an authorization check, so a logged-in user can read, modify or delete data belonging to other tenants. The attacker needs a valid account on the platform, and the impact is cross-tenant data exposure and tampering.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the installed API Connect version in the management console or product documentation; the affected range is `12.1.0.0` through `12.1.1.2`.
- Confirm whether the deployment is multi-tenant, since cross-tenant access only matters when several tenants share the platform.

## Fix

- Move to a release newer than `12.1.1.2` as stated in IBM's advisory; the exact fixed version is unknown from the sources.

## Timeline

- 2026-11-07T05:45:58+00:00 nvd https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-17066

## From the sources

IBM API Connect 12.1.0.0 through 12.1.1.2 could allow a remote authenticated attacker to obtain sensitive information and modify or delete data belonging to other tenants due to missing authorization.
