# IBM API Connect: remote input flaw can leak platform credentials in outbound requests

Link for people: https://infrastack.ai/live/CVE-2026-16711 (this .md is for agents)

IBM API Connect versions 10.0.8.0 through 10.0.8.12 and 12.1.0.0 through 12.1.1.2 fail to validate input strictly enough. A remote attacker can cause platform credentials to be included in outbound requests.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the installed IBM API Connect version against the affected ranges 10.0.8.0 through 10.0.8.12 and 12.1.0.0 through 12.1.1.2.

## Timeline

- 2026-11-07T05:45:57+00:00 nvd https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-16711

## From the sources

IBM API Connect 10.0.8.0 through 10.0.8.12 and 12.1.0.0 through 12.1.1.2 could allow a remote attacker to inject platform credentials into outbound requests due to improper input validation. A validation check is not sufficiently strict, which could cause platform credentials to be included in outbound requests.
