# INFINITT PACS: crafted imodular URI lets an attacker run code

IModular.exe, the handler for the imodular:// URI scheme in INFINITT PACS, runs the cmd value from a link without checking that it is permitted. If a user opens a crafted link, an attacker can make it run specific programs from a local folder or network share, or open files the attacker controls. The url parameter also makes it connect to an attacker-controlled SignalR endpoint. Code runs with that user's privileges. CERT/CC reports no known exploitation.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## Affected

- vendor:INFINITT PACS System Manager affected 3.0.11.3, 3.0.11.5 fixed 3.0.12.3, 3.0.12.5

## How to check

- Check System Manager version on INFINITT PACS hosts and workstations: 3.0.11.3 and 3.0.11.5 are affected; 3.0.12.3 and 3.0.12.5 are fixed.
- Check whether IModular.exe is present in the install directory and whether the imodular:// scheme is registered (HKCR\imodular).

## Fix

Upgrade INFINITT PACS System Manager to 3.0.12.3 or 3.0.12.5 (per CERT/CC VU#203719, relaying INFINITT's recommendation).

## Timeline

- 2026-11-02T16:24:04+00:00 nvd https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-16306
- 2026-11-02T16:28:21+00:00 analyst — Read CERT/CC VU#203719 (coordinator, not vendor; vendor statement absent, so nothing marked verified). Click required: user must open crafted imodular:// link. Fixed in System Manager 3.0.12.3/3.0.12.5 per CERT. No exploitation known per CERT.

## From the sources

Remote Code Execution in the `IModular.exe` URI handler in INFINITT Healthcare Co., Ltd. INFINITT PACS allows a remote unauthenticated attacker to invoke unintended application functionality and potentially execute arbitrary code via a crafted `imodular:// URI` containing attacker-controlled command and argument parameters.
