# JetBrains CLion: code runs in Safe Mode via JSON compilation database

Link for people: https://infrastack.ai/live/CVE-2026-123832 (this .md is for agents)

In JetBrains CLion before 2026.2, a crafted JSON compilation database can make the IDE execute code even when Safe Mode is on. An attacker who gets a developer to open a malicious project could run commands as that developer.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the installed CLion version in Help > About (unknown exact path in sources)
- Look for CLion versions below `2026.2`

## Fix

- JetBrains CLion: upgrade to `2026.2` or later

## Timeline

- 2026-11-06T17:43:12+00:00 nvd https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-123832

## From the sources

In JetBrains CLion before 2026.2 code execution was possible in Safe Mode via JSON compilation database
