# OpenAM: open redirect after SAML 1.x sign-on sends users to phishing sites

Link for people: https://infrastack.ai/live/CVE-2026-123541 (this .md is for agents)

OpenAM before 16.1.4 matches trusted-partner destinations loosely during SAML 1.x single sign-on. An attacker can craft a link to /SAMLAwareServlet or /SAMLPOSTProfileServlet that sends a freshly authenticated user to an attacker-controlled phishing site.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the OpenAM version in use; `16.1.4` or later is not affected per the description.
- Look for SAML 1.x single sign-on configured with trusted partners in the OpenAM deployment.

## Fix

- OpenAM: upgrade to `16.1.4` or later.

## From the sources

OpenAM before 16.1.4 contains an open redirect vulnerability that allows remote attackers to redirect users after SAML 1.x single sign-on by exploiting loose trusted-partner destination matching. Attackers can craft links to /SAMLAwareServlet or /SAMLPOSTProfileServlet with a destination host resembling a trusted partner to send authenticated users to attacker-controlled phishing sites.
