# Vikunja: missing OAuth state check lets attackers import data into victim accounts

Link for people: https://infrastack.ai/live/CVE-2026-123494 (this .md is for agents)

Vikunja's Todoist, Microsoft To Do and Trello migration OAuth callbacks do not bind a state parameter, so a logged-in user can be tricked into visiting a callback that imports attacker-chosen projects and tasks. The imported tasks can carry phishing links.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the Vikunja version in use; the sources say versions before `2.7.1` are affected.
- Check whether the Todoist, Microsoft To Do or Trello migration feature is reachable on your instance.

## Fix

- Vikunja: move to `2.7.1` or later.

## Timeline

## From the sources

Vikunja before 2.7.1 contains a cross-site request forgery vulnerability that allows attackers to import their data into a victim's account because the Todoist, Microsoft To Do, and Trello migration OAuth callbacks lack a bound state parameter. Attackers can authorize their own account, keep the unused callback code or token, and lure a logged-in victim to the migration callback route to auto-import attacker-chosen projects and tasks containing phishing links.
