# JetBrains IntelliJ IDEA: disabled plugins can be re-enabled via dependency settings

Link for people: https://infrastack.ai/live/CVE-2026-123313 (this .md is for agents)

Before 2026.3, IntelliJ IDEA's checks were improper, so a plugin the user had disabled could be turned back on through external dependency settings. The sources do not say what an attacker gains beyond the disabled plugin running.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Open IntelliJ IDEA and check the IDE version under Help > About; the sources do not name a check for plugin state.

## Fix

- IntelliJ IDEA: `2026.3`
- Source: the sources state the fix is in 2026.3 and later, from the vulnerability description.

## Timeline

- 2026-11-06T11:41:26+00:00 nvd https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-123313

## From the sources

In JetBrains IntelliJ IDEA before 2026.3 improper checks could enable disabled plugins via external dependency settings
