# JetBrains IntelliJ IDEA: Kotlin scripts download dependencies from arbitrary repositories

Link for people: https://infrastack.ai/live/CVE-2026-123310 (this .md is for agents)

In JetBrains IntelliJ IDEA before 2026.3, Kotlin scripts could trigger dependency downloads from arbitrary repositories when a project is untrusted. An attacker who supplies a malicious project can make the IDE fetch artifacts from a server of their choosing.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the IntelliJ IDEA version under Help > About; versions before `2026.3` are in the affected range.
- Open projects from untrusted sources only after confirming the IDE is at `2026.3` or later.

## Fix

- JetBrains IntelliJ IDEA: move to `2026.3` or later.

## Timeline
