# Chrome: ANGLE race condition lets a crafted web page escape the sandbox

A race condition in ANGLE, the graphics translation layer in Google Chrome, can be triggered by a crafted HTML page. A successful attack could potentially run arbitrary code outside the browser sandbox.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the Chrome version under Chrome menu > Help > About Google Chrome, or run `chrome --version` where available.
- Confirm the installed version is at or above `157.0.8103.38`.

## Fix

- Google Chrome: move to `157.0.8103.38` or later.

## Timeline

- 2026-11-03T21:19:28+00:00 nvd https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-121230

## From the sources

Race condition in ANGLE in Google Chrome prior to 157.0.8103.38 allowed a remote attacker to potentially execute arbitrary code outside the sandbox via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: Low)
