# Chrome: crafted web page bypasses origin policy in Forms

Google Chrome's Forms component did not check authorization correctly, so a crafted HTML page can get around web origin restrictions. The attacker gets to act across site boundaries in the browser, with Chromium rating the issue low severity.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Open Chrome, go to `chrome://settings/help` and read the version number
- Compare it against the fixed version `157.0.8103.38`

## Fix

- Google Chrome: `157.0.8103.38` or later

## Timeline

- 2026-11-03T21:19:27+00:00 nvd https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-121222

## From the sources

Incorrect authorization in Forms in Google Chrome prior to 157.0.8103.38 allowed a remote attacker to bypass web origin policy via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: Low)
