# Chrome: use-after-free in Picture-in-Picture lets crafted web page run code

Google Chrome versions before 157.0.8103.38 have a use-after-free bug in the Picture-in-Picture feature. A remote attacker who tricks a user into opening a crafted HTML page can execute arbitrary code outside the browser sandbox.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Open Chrome and check the version under Chrome menu > Help > About Google Chrome, or run `chrome --version` on the machine
- Compare the installed version against `157.0.8103.38`

## Fix

- Google Chrome: move to `157.0.8103.38` or later

## Timeline
