# Chrome: network flaw lets a crafted web page read cross-origin data

A flaw in the Network component of Google Chrome before 157.0.8103.38 lets a remote attacker obtain data from other origins through a crafted HTML page. An attacker who lures a user to such a page can read information that should be isolated from it.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the Chrome version in Chrome's About page (chrome://settings/help) or run `google-chrome --version` on Linux
- Compare the installed version against `157.0.8103.38`

## Fix

- Google Chrome: `157.0.8103.38` or later

## Timeline
