# Chrome: use-after-free lets a crafted web page run code in sandbox

A use-after-free bug in the Modularization component of Google Chrome before 157.0.8103.38 lets a remote attacker run arbitrary code inside the browser sandbox. The attacker only needs the victim to open a crafted HTML page.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Open Chrome's version page (chrome://version) and compare the version to `157.0.8103.38`
- Check the installed version on managed machines with your device management tool; unknown otherwise

## Fix

- Google Chrome: move to `157.0.8103.38` or later
