# Chrome on Android: WebGL memory write lets crafted page run code

An out-of-bounds write in WebGL in Google Chrome on Android lets a crafted HTML page make the browser write outside its memory bounds. A remote attacker can use this to execute arbitrary code outside the browser sandbox.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Open Chrome on the Android device and check the version under Settings > About Chrome.
- Versions before `156.0.8078.47` are affected according to the NVD description.

## Fix

- Google Chrome on Android: move to `156.0.8078.47` or later.

## Timeline

- 2026-11-03T23:15:08+00:00 nvd https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-120931

## From the sources

Out of bounds write in WebGL in Google Chrome on on Android prior to 156.0.8078.47 allowed a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code outside the sandbox via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: Critical)
