CVE-2026-120677 · Package

Sites running the Optimole plugin at version 4.2.18 or earlier with comments enabled, where an administrator approves a comment on a page containing an iframe or video element. Default plugin settings enable video lazy loading, which meets the condition. Sites without the plugin or without approved comments on such pages are not exposed.
Not affected if comments-disabled, plugin-newer-than-4.2.18, plugin-not-installed

This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. Exploitation requires the comment to be approved by an administrator and for the affected post to contain at least one iframe or video element (e.g., a core Video block), which is sufficient under default plugin settings where video lazy loading is enabled.
