# WordPress video gallery plugin: stored XSS via thumbnail URL field

Link for people: https://infrastack.ai/live/CVE-2026-120408 (this .md is for agents)

The All-in-One Video Gallery WordPress plugin does not escape a video's stored thumbnail URL before showing it in the admin video list. A low-privileged user such as a Subscriber can plant script that runs in an administrator's browser.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check whether the All-in-One Video Gallery plugin is installed and its version in the WordPress admin Plugins screen
- Compare the installed version against `5.1.0`; versions below it are listed as affected
- Check whether open user registration gives accounts the Subscriber role

## Fix

- All-in-One Video Gallery WordPress plugin: move to `5.1.0` or later

## Timeline

- 2026-11-06T06:40:12+00:00 nvd https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-120408

## From the sources

The All-in-One Video Gallery WordPress plugin before 5.1.0 does not escape a video's stored thumbnail URL before outputting it in the admin video list, and does not sanitise that value when it is written outside its own editor, allowing users with a role as low as Subscriber to perform Stored Cross-Site Scripting attacks against administrators.
