# Oray Pugongying X5 Pro router: path traversal in config restore lets attackers write files

Oray Pugongying X5 Pro routers up to firmware 7.6.1 have a relative path traversal flaw in the config_restore_ex function, where the filename argument is not sanitized. A remote attacker can use it to reach files outside the intended directory, and a public exploit exists.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## Affected

- vendor:Pugongying X5 Pro affected <= 7.6.1 fixed ?

## How to check

Check the router's firmware version in its admin page; 7.6.0 and 7.6.1 are listed as affected by VulDB. Also check whether the admin/management interface is reachable from the internet. Whether other versions are affected is unknown.

## Timeline

- 2026-11-01T11:49:50+00:00 nvd https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-120225
- 2026-11-01T11:50:46+00:00 analyst — Only secondary source (VulDB, researcher FirmAgent; PoC on Notion, not read). No vendor advisory; vendor silent, no fix, no mitigation known. VulDB says auth needed; NVD CVSS vector PR:H, so who_is_affected text (says login unknown) should say auth required. Nothing verified. Siblings: CVE-2026-120224, -120223, -116234..116237.

## From the sources

A weakness has been identified in Oray Pugongying X5 Pro up to 7.6.1. Affected by this vulnerability is the function config_restore_ex of the file /etc/openwrt_release. This manipulation of the argument filename causes relative path traversal. The attack may be initiated remotely. The exploit has been made available to the public and could be used for attacks. The vendor was contacted early about this disclosure but did not respond in any way.
