# Thelia: stored script injection via customer names runs in admin view

Thelia, an open-source PHP e-commerce platform, does not escape customer names when showing coupon summaries. An unauthenticated attacker who registers with a script as their name can run that script in an administrator's browser, stealing CSRF tokens to create new administrator accounts.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the installed Thelia version in `composer.json` or the lock file.
- Confirm whether customer self-registration is open on the shop.

## Fix

- Thelia: move to `3.1.0` or later.

## Timeline

- 2026-10-31T18:37:12+00:00 nvd https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-120205

## From the sources

Thelia before 3.1.0 contains a stored cross-site scripting vulnerability in ForSomeCustomers::getSummary() that allows unauthenticated attackers to inject scripts via unescaped customer names. Attackers can register with a script payload as their name that executes when administrators view related coupons, stealing CSRF tokens to create administrator accounts.
