# Nexterm: authenticated users can disrupt other users' remote sessions

Nexterm through 1.2.2-BETA lets any logged-in user hibernate, resume, or terminate remote sessions that belong to other users. An attacker who obtains a session ID can disrupt live SSH, RDP, VNC, or SFTP sessions.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the installed Nexterm version against the affected range (through `1.2.2-BETA`).
- Review who holds accounts on the Nexterm instance, since the attacker must be authenticated.

## Timeline

- 2026-10-31T18:37:12+00:00 nvd https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-120200

## From the sources

Nexterm through 1.2.2-BETA contains a missing authorization vulnerability that allows authenticated users to hibernate, resume, or terminate other users' remote sessions via session lifecycle routes. Attackers who obtain a session ID can call the hibernate, resume, or DELETE connection endpoints to disrupt live SSH, RDP, VNC, or SFTP sessions.
