# WP Activity Log WordPress plugin: stored XSS through unsanitized input

The WP Activity Log WordPress plugin up to and including 5.6.1 does not sanitize or escape input properly. An unauthenticated attacker can inject scripts that run in the browser of any user who opens the affected page.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Look for the WP Activity Log plugin (`wp-activity-log`) in the WordPress plugins list and note its version
- Compare the installed version against `5.6.1`

## Fix

- WP Activity Log plugin: a fixed version newer than `5.6.1` (the exact version is unknown from the sources)

## Timeline

- 2026-10-31T09:34:41+00:00 nvd https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-120075

## From the sources

The WP Activity Log plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting in all versions up to, and including, 5.6.1 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
