# NXP MCUXpresso SDK: unchecked pointers in secure-world veneer leak memory

Link for people: https://infrastack.ai/live/CVE-2026-118786 (this .md is for agents)

The NXP MCUXpresso SDK rpmsg-lite multicore example exposes non-secure-callable veneer functions that accept pointers and sizes without validation. A non-secure caller can read secure-world memory or crash the device.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check whether the project includes the `multicore_examples/rpmsg_lite_pingpong_tzm` example from the MCUXpresso SDK.
- Check the SDK release in use: affected releases are up to `26.06.00-lts` and `26.09.00`.

## Fix

- Move to `26.06.01-lts` or later in the 26.06 line.
- Move to `26.12.00-pvw1` or later.

## Timeline

- 2026-11-06T23:44:35+00:00 nvd https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-118786

## From the sources

Improper input validation in non-secure-callable (NSC)
veneer functions of the NXP MCUXpresso SDK rpmsg-lite multicore example
(multicore_examples/rpmsg_lite_pingpong_tzm) up to releases 26.06.00-lts and
26.09.00 may allow a non-secure caller to supply unvalidated pointers and size
values, potentially resulting in disclosure of secure-world memory to the
non-secure domain, or denial of service. All software versions starting from
26.06.01-lts and 26.12.00-pvw1 have fixed this issue.
