# Drupal Stage File Proxy: cross-site scripting flaw lets attackers run scripts

Stage File Proxy is a Drupal module that fetches files from a production site into a development site. Versions up to 3.1.7 and 4.0.0 through 4.0.1 fail to neutralize input, so an attacker can inject scripts that run in a visitor's browser.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the installed version with `drush pm:list --filter=stage_file_proxy` or in the Drupal admin under Extend.
- Look for `stage_file_proxy` in the project's `composer.lock`.

## Fix

- Move to a Stage File Proxy release newer than `3.1.7` on the 3.x line, or newer than `4.0.1` on the 4.x line.

## Timeline

## From the sources

Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation ("Cross-site Scripting") vulnerability in Drupal Stage File Proxy allows Cross-Site Scripting (XSS). This issue affects Stage File Proxy versions: from 0.0.0 to 3.1.7, from 4.0.0 to 4.0.1.
