# Chrome: use-after-free in Modularization lets a web page run code

A use-after-free bug in the Modularization component of Google Chrome before 156.0.8078.73 lets a remote attacker run arbitrary code inside the browser sandbox. The attacker only needs the victim to load a crafted HTML page.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Run `chrome --version` or check chrome://settings/help to see the installed version
- Compare the result against `156.0.8078.73`

## Fix

- Update Google Chrome to `156.0.8078.73` or later
- Restart the browser after the update so the new version is running
