# Chrome: use-after-free in Animation lets a crafted page run code

A use-after-free bug in the Animation component of Google Chrome before 156.0.8078.73 can be triggered by a crafted HTML page. A remote attacker who gets a user to load that page can execute arbitrary code inside the browser sandbox.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Run `chrome://version` in Chrome and compare the version with `156.0.8078.73`
- On managed fleets, check the Chrome version reported by your device management console

## Fix

- Update Google Chrome to `156.0.8078.73` or later
- Relaunch the browser after the update so the new version takes effect
