# Chrome: use-after-free in Animation lets a crafted page run code in sandbox

A use-after-free bug in the Animation component of Google Chrome before 156.0.8078.73 can be triggered by a crafted HTML page. A remote attacker could potentially execute arbitrary code inside the browser sandbox.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Open chrome://version in Chrome and read the version number, then compare it with `156.0.8078.73`
- On managed machines, check the installed Chrome version with your endpoint tool

## Fix

- Update Google Chrome to `156.0.8078.73` or later
- Relaunch the browser after the update so the new version is running
