# Google Chrome: missing authorization in Video lets pages bypass origin policy

Google Chrome's Video component lacks an authorization check, so a crafted HTML page can bypass the web origin policy. An attacker who lures a user to the page can read or act on content from other sites the user is visiting.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the installed Chrome version in chrome://settings/help or run `google-chrome --version`
- Confirm whether it is below `156.0.8078.73`

## Fix

- Update Google Chrome to `156.0.8078.73` or later
- Relaunch the browser after the update so the fix takes effect

## Timeline
