# Chrome on Mac: ANGLE input validation flaw lets crafted pages run code

Google Chrome on macOS before 156.0.8078.73 has an improper input validation bug in the ANGLE graphics layer. A remote attacker who gets a user to open a crafted HTML page can potentially execute arbitrary code inside the browser sandbox.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Open Chrome and check the version under Settings > About Chrome, or run `google-chrome --version` on a managed machine
- Check whether any installed Chrome on macOS reports a version below `156.0.8078.73`

## Fix

- Update Google Chrome on macOS to `156.0.8078.73` or later
- Relaunch the browser after the update so the fix takes effect

## From the sources

Improper input validation in ANGLE in Google Chrome on on Mac prior to 156.0.8078.73 allowed a remote attacker to potentially execute arbitrary code inside the sandbox via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: High)
