# PublishPress Revisions WordPress plugin: any logged-in user reads private drafts

Link for people: https://infrastack.ai/live/CVE-2026-118188 (this .md is for agents)

The PublishPress Revisions WordPress plugin before 4.3.1 does not check whether a user may read a post when returning revision comparisons. Any logged-in user, including a Subscriber, can read the title, content and excerpt of other users' private, draft, pending, scheduled or trashed posts.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the installed PublishPress Revisions version in the WordPress plugins screen or `wp plugin get revisionary --field=version`
- Confirm whether subscriber-level accounts can register on the site

## Fix

- PublishPress Revisions: upgrade to `4.3.1` or later

## Timeline

- 2026-11-06T06:40:12+00:00 nvd https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-118188

## From the sources

The PublishPress Revisions: Duplicate Posts, Submit, Approve and Schedule Content Changes WordPress plugin before 4.3.1 does not verify that a user is permitted to read a given post before returning its content through its revision-comparison feature, allowing any authenticated user, including a Subscriber, to read the title, content and excerpt of any other user's private, draft, pending, scheduled or trashed post.
