# LearnPress course review plugin: stored XSS via review title

Link for people: https://infrastack.ai/live/CVE-2026-118054 (this .md is for agents)

The LearnPress WordPress plugin does not sanitize the review title field, so a logged-in subscriber can store a script in a review. The script runs in the browser of anyone who opens the page after an administrator approves the review.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the installed LearnPress – Course Review plugin version in the WordPress admin plugins list
- Check whether comment_previously_approved auto-approval is enabled for reviews on the site

## Fix

- LearnPress – Course Review: unknown (sources do not name a fixed version beyond affecting all versions up to and including `4.2.2`)

## Timeline

- 2026-11-07T03:45:32+00:00 nvd https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-118054

## From the sources

The LearnPress – Course Review plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored DOM-Based Cross-Site Scripting via the 'review_title (inside `data.args.review_title`)' parameter in all versions up to, and including, 4.2.2 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with subscriber-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. The injected payload only executes after an administrator approves the submitted review, though sites with comment_previously_approved auto-approval configured may bypass manual moderation.
