# WordPress Ever Accounting plugin: CSV import lets a user delete server files

Link for people: https://infrastack.ai/live/CVE-2026-118045 (this .md is for agents)

The Ever Accounting WordPress plugin before 2.3.3 does not restrict the file path given to its CSV import routine to an allowed directory. A user with the plugin's Accounting Manager role can delete arbitrary files on the server, such as wp-config.php, which takes the whole site offline.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the installed Ever Accounting plugin version in the WordPress admin under Plugins, or in the plugin's header in `wp-content/plugins/`.
- Check whether the site has users with the Accounting Manager role.

## Fix

- Ever Accounting `2.3.3` or later (the description says the flaw is fixed before 2.3.3).

## Timeline

- 2026-11-06T06:40:12+00:00 nvd https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-118045

## From the sources

The Ever Accounting WordPress plugin before 2.3.3 does not restrict the file path supplied to its CSV import routine to an allowed directory, allowing users with its custom Accounting Manager role (which does not have administrator privileges) to delete arbitrary files on the server, such as wp-config.php, which takes the entire site offline.
