# Firefox: use-after-free in DOM bindings lets pages run code

Firefox has a use-after-free bug in its DOM bindings (WebIDL) component, where memory is used after it has been released. The sources do not say what an attacker gets beyond the general class of memory corruption, so the impact is unconfirmed.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the Firefox version with `about:support` or the Help menu and compare it against the fixed releases.
- For ESR installs, confirm the build is at or above `115.44` or `153.6`.

## Fix

- Update Firefox to `159` or later.
- Update Firefox ESR to `115.44` or `153.6` or later.
