# Firefox: use-after-free in image library lets attacker run code

A use-after-free bug in Firefox's Graphics ImageLib component can corrupt memory when a crafted image is processed. The sources do not say what an attacker gains beyond that, so the exact impact is unconfirmed.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Run `firefox --version` (or check Help > About) and compare against `159` and ESR `115.44` and `153.6`
- Check whether browsers are managed centrally with an update policy

## Fix

- Update Firefox to `159` or later
- Update Firefox ESR to `115.44` or `153.6`

## Timeline
