# WP Visitor Statistics WordPress plugin: SQL injection by administrators

The WP Visitor Statistics (Real Time Traffic) WordPress plugin does not sanitize a parameter before using it in a SQL statement. An administrator or other high-privilege user can inject SQL to read or change data in the WordPress database.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the installed plugin version in the WordPress admin under Plugins, or look for the plugin folder `wp-content/plugins/` and its version header.
- Compare the installed version against `8.8`; anything earlier is listed as affected.

## Fix

- WP Visitor Statistics (Real Time Traffic) plugin: move to `8.8` or later.

## Timeline

- 2026-10-30T06:28:39+00:00 nvd https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-117572

## From the sources

The WP Visitor Statistics (Real Time Traffic) WordPress plugin before 8.8 does not sanitize and escape a parameter before using it in a SQL statement, allowing high-privilege users such as administrators to perform SQL injection attacks.
