# REDAXO CMS: structure/history plugin flaw lets attackers forge login tokens

REDAXO core versions from 5.3.0 before 5.21.4 have an authentication bypass in the structure/history plugin. An unauthenticated attacker can forge temporary login tokens for accounts such as admin, which gives backend access and code execution.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the installed REDAXO core version in the backend or in `redaxo/src/core/boot.php`; unknown if the sources give another location
- Look for the structure/history plugin in the addons directory; unknown if the sources name the exact path

## Fix

- Upgrade REDAXO core to `5.21.4` or later
- Rotate backend admin passwords and review admin accounts after upgrading, since forged tokens may already have been used

## Timeline

- 2026-10-27T11:31:28+00:00 nvd https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-117532

## From the sources

REDAXO core from 5.3.0 before 5.21.4 contains an authentication bypass vulnerability in the structure/history plugin that allows unauthenticated attackers to forge temporary login tokens. Attackers can force the session-tied secret into a predictable state and forge tokens for accounts like admin, gaining backend access and code execution outside live mode.
