# LiteSpeed Cache WordPress plugin: stored script injection via comment parameter

The LiteSpeed Cache plugin for WordPress fails to sanitize the 'comment' parameter, so an unauthenticated visitor can store web script that runs in the browser of anyone who loads the affected page. The flaw is only exploitable when the HTML Minify option is enabled and a companion plugin renders stored comment content into a raw-text context on the same page.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the installed LiteSpeed Cache version in the WordPress admin plugins list; affected versions are up to and including `7.9.1`.
- Check whether the HTML Minify option (O_OPTM_HTML_MIN) is enabled in the LiteSpeed Cache settings.
- Check whether a companion plugin outputs stored comment content inside a JSON-LD script block or similar raw-text context.

## From the sources

The LiteSpeed Cache plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the 'comment' parameter in all versions up to, and including, 7.9.1 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page. This vulnerability is only exploitable when the HTML Minify option (O_OPTM_HTML_MIN) is enabled and a companion plugin renders stored comment content into a raw-text context such as a JSON-LD script block on the same page.
