{"id":"CVE-2026-116680","kind":"vulnerability","aliases":["CVE-2026-116680"],"related":[],"title":"HomeBox: notifier redirects bypass SSRF checks, reaching internal addresses","description":"HomeBox is a home inventory and organization system. Prior to version 0.27.0, Homebox validates generic notifier URLs with ValidateNotifierURL before creation, update, testing, and scheduled delivery, but shoutrrr sends the request through http.DefaultClient.Do without a CheckRedirect policy that revalidates each Location target. An authenticated collection member can configure a permitted notifier host that redirects to loopback, link-local, cloud metadata, or another blocked destination, causing the follow-up request to bypass the product's SSRF policy. The flaw is reachable through POST /api/v1/notifiers/test for immediate requests and through stored notifiers during scheduled maintenance delivery. This issue is fixed in version 0.27.0.","summary":"HomeBox validates notifier URLs against an SSRF policy, but the shoutrrr HTTP client follows redirects without rechecking the target. An authenticated collection member can point a permitted notifier host at a redirect to loopback, link-local, or cloud metadata addresses and make the server request them.","severity":"medium","cvss":6.4,"epss":null,"exploited":false,"exploited_at":null,"products":[],"ecosystems":[],"tags":["homebox","package","self-hosted","ssrf"],"not_affected_if":["no-authenticated-users","version-0.27.0-or-later"],"how_to_check":"- Check the HomeBox version; versions before `0.27.0` are affected.\n- Look for notifiers configured with URLs that redirect to internal addresses, and review stored notifiers for unexpected hosts.","fix":"- Upgrade HomeBox to `0.27.0` or later.","status":"open","published_at":"2026-10-27T18:17:35+00:00","first_seen_at":"2026-10-27T18:32:59+00:00","triaged_at":"2026-10-27T18:34:50+00:00","updated_at":"2026-10-27T18:34:50+00:00","category":"package","confidence":0.7,"triage":{"at":"2026-10-27T18:34:50Z","model":"claude-haiku-5-5","output":{"fix":"- Upgrade HomeBox to `0.27.0` or later.","reach":"network","title":"HomeBox: notifier redirects bypass SSRF checks, reaching internal addresses","impact":"medium","summary":"HomeBox validates notifier URLs against an SSRF policy, but the shoutrrr HTTP client follows redirects without rechecking the target.
