# VikRentCar WordPress plugin: stored script injection via optionals parameter

The VikRentCar Car Rental Management System WordPress plugin, versions up to and including 1.4.10, does not sanitize the 'optionals' parameter. An unauthenticated attacker can store script in pages that runs in the browser of any visitor who opens the injected page.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the installed version of the VikRentCar Car Rental Management System plugin in the WordPress admin plugin list, and see whether it is `1.4.10` or lower.

## Fix

- Move the VikRentCar Car Rental Management System plugin to a version newer than `1.4.10`; the sources do not name the fixed version.

## Timeline

## From the sources

The VikRentCar Car Rental Management System plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via the 'optionals' parameter in all versions up to, and including, 1.4.10 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page.
