# Oray Pugongying X5 Pro: L2TP login username allows CRLF injection remotely

The L2TP authentication function of the Oray Pugongying X5 Pro 7.6.1 does not filter carriage return and line feed characters in the Username argument. A remote attacker can inject those characters to alter the protocol or command data the device handles, and a public exploit exists.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Confirm the device model and firmware: unknown whether `7.6.1` is the firmware or software version the sources refer to.
- Check whether L2TP authentication is enabled on the device (unknown how the sources say to locate this setting).

## Fix

- No vendor fix is referenced: the sources say the vendor did not respond to early disclosure.
- Disable L2TP or restrict access to its port to trusted networks until a fixed version is available (unknown whether a fixed version exists).

## Timeline

## From the sources

A flaw has been found in Oray Pugongying X5 Pro 7.6.1. Affected by this vulnerability is an unknown functionality of the component L2TP Authentication. This manipulation of the argument Username causes crlf injection. The attack may be initiated remotely. The exploit has been published and may be used. The vendor was contacted early about this disclosure but did not respond in any way.
