# NocoDB: sign-in salt handling leaks information to remote attackers

NocoDB up to 2026.07.0 has a flaw in the sign-in endpoint's AuthService.validateUser, where manipulating the salt argument discloses information. A remote attacker can trigger it, though the sources describe the attack as high complexity and difficult to exploit.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the installed NocoDB version against `2026.07.0` (for example, `docker ps` and the image tag, or the version shown in the admin panel)
- unknown for other checks; the sources do not describe a configuration to inspect

## Fix

- Move to a NocoDB release newer than `2026.07.0`; the sources do not name the fixed version
- unknown for other actions; the vendor has not responded to disclosure

## Timeline

- 2026-10-26T06:28:44+00:00 nvd https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-116122

## From the sources

A security flaw has been discovered in NocoDB up to 2026.07.0. Impacted is the function AuthService.validateUser of the component Sign-in Endpoint. Performing a manipulation of the argument salt results in information disclosure. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. The attack's complexity is rated as high. The exploitability is considered difficult. The vendor deleted the GitHub issue for this vulnerability without any explanation. Afterwards the vendor was contacted early about this disclosure via email but did not respond in any way.
