# GouGuOA: chunked file upload accepts unrestricted extensions, enabling remote upload

GouGuOA up to 6.1.2 has a flaw in the chunkUpload function of app/disk/controller/Api.php where the file_extension argument is not restricted. A remote attacker can upload files of arbitrary type, and a public exploit exists.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the installed GouGuOA version against `6.1.2` (unknown how to read it from the sources)
- Inspect app/disk/controller/Api.php for the chunkUpload function and whether file_extension is validated against an allowlist

## Timeline

- 2026-10-26T04:58:33+00:00 nvd https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-116113

## From the sources

A security flaw has been discovered in GouGuOA up to 6.1.2. The impacted element is the function chunkUpload of the file app/disk/controller/Api.php. The manipulation of the argument file_extension results in unrestricted upload. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploit has been released to the public and may be used for attacks. The vendor was contacted early about this disclosure but did not respond in any way.
