# OceanWP WordPress theme: reflected XSS lets attackers run scripts in visitors' browsers

OceanWP, a WordPress theme, has a reflected cross-site scripting flaw: input is not neutralized before it is written into a page. An attacker who tricks a user into opening a crafted link can run script in that user's browser session.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Look at the installed OceanWP version in the WordPress admin under Appearance > Themes, or in the theme's style.css header.
- Confirm whether the site uses the OceanWP theme at all.

## Fix

- OceanWP: versions through `4.2.7` are affected; move to a later release than `4.2.7` (the sources do not name the fixed version).

## Timeline
