# WordPress Contact Form by Supsystic: CSRF lets attacker reroute site mail

The Contact Form by Supsystic WordPress plugin before 1.11.1 saves its mail settings without checking a CSRF nonce. An attacker can trick a logged-in administrator into visiting a crafted page that overwrites the SMTP server, its credentials and the notification recipient.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the installed version of the Contact Form by Supsystic plugin in the WordPress admin plugins list; affected if below `1.11.1`.
- Review the plugin's mail settings for an SMTP host or notification recipient you did not set.

## Fix

- Contact Form by Supsystic: move to `1.11.1` or later.

## Timeline

## From the sources

The Contact Form by Supsystic WordPress plugin before 1.11.1 does not verify a CSRF nonce before saving its mail settings, allowing an attacker to overwrite the site's outbound mail configuration, including the SMTP server, its credentials and the notification recipient, by tricking a logged-in administrator into visiting a crafted page, which can route the Contact Form by Supsystic WordPress plugin before 1.11.1's contact-form notifications through infrastructure the attacker controls.
