# Drupal UI Icons: input handling lets attackers inject scripts into pages

Drupal UI Icons, a Drupal module, does not neutralize some input before writing it into web pages. An attacker can run scripts in a visitor's browser (cross-site scripting).

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check whether the site runs the UI Icons module with `drush pm:list --filter=ui_icons` or the Drupal admin Extend page.
- Compare the installed version against the affected ranges: `0.0.0` to `1.1.3`, and `2.0.0` to `2.0.2`.

## Fix

- Move UI Icons to a version newer than `1.1.3` on the 1.x line, or newer than `2.0.2` on the 2.x line.

## Timeline

## From the sources

Improper Neutralization of Input During Web Page Generation ("Cross-site Scripting") vulnerability in Drupal UI Icons allows Cross-Site Scripting (XSS). This issue affects UI Icons versions: from 0.0.0 to 1.1.3, from 2.0.0 to 2.0.2.
