# File Management System PHP: missing auth lets remote users delete folders

The AJAX handler in ajax.php of oretnom23's file-management-system-php lets a request delete folders through the ID argument without checking authentication. An attacker on the network can remove folders on the server without logging in, and a public exploit exists.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check whether the deployed app includes `ajax.php` with a `delete_folder` action and whether it checks for a logged-in session before deleting.
- Confirm the exact commit with `git log -1` in the deployed copy; the advisory lists commit `2e3c1ebe60f121e8df4fb3f544f0e9591d9a01e4` and up as affected.

The attack can be initiated remotely. The exploit has been disclosed to the public and may be used. Continious delivery with rolling releases is used by this product. Therefore, no version details of affected nor updated releases are available. The project was informed of the problem early through an issue report but has not responded yet.
