# Apple iOS, iPadOS, macOS and visionOS: memory corruption from nearby attacker

A memory corruption flaw in Apple's operating systems lets an attacker in physical proximity corrupt process memory. The sources do not say what code runs or what data is exposed after corruption.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the device version under Settings > General > About (iOS, iPadOS, visionOS) or `sw_vers` on macOS
- Compare against the fixed builds: iOS and iPadOS `26.7.2` or `27.2`, macOS Golden Gate `27.2`, visionOS `27.2`

## Fix

- Update iOS and iPadOS to `26.7.2` (for the 26 line) or `27.2`
- Update macOS Golden Gate to `27.2`
- Update visionOS to `27.2`

## Timeline

## From the sources

A memory corruption issue was addressed with improved input validation. This issue is fixed in iOS 26.7.2 and iPadOS 26.7.2, iOS 27.2 and iPadOS 27.2, macOS Golden Gate 27.2, visionOS 27.2. An attacker in physical proximity may be able to corrupt process memory.
