# GeoDirectory WordPress plugin: anyone can edit guest-submitted listings

The GeoDirectory WordPress plugin before 2.8.194 does not check ownership of listings submitted by logged-out users before allowing edits. An unauthenticated attacker can modify, unpublish, reassign, or add images to any guest-submitted listing when guest posting is enabled.

## How to check

- Check the installed GeoDirectory version in the WordPress admin plugins page; versions below `2.8.194` are affected.
- Check whether guest posting is enabled in the GeoDirectory settings for listings.

## Fix

- Update the GeoDirectory plugin to `2.8.194` or later.
- If an update is not possible, disable guest posting in the GeoDirectory settings until it is applied.
