# Webstudio: missing authorization lets logged-in users read other projects' data

Webstudio before 0.256.0 lacks an authorization check on the publishedBuilds and findManyByIds tRPC procedures. A logged-in user who knows another user's project UUID can read that project's publish history, titles, domains, preview images and latest builds.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the installed Webstudio version; versions before `0.256.0` are affected
- Review whether the self-hosted or deployed instance allows multiple user accounts
- unknown whether other configuration changes exposure

## Fix

- Upgrade Webstudio to `0.256.0` or later
- unknown whether a workaround exists before upgrading

## Timeline

- 2026-10-23T21:57:20+00:00 nvd https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-113596

## From the sources

Webstudio before 0.256.0 contains a missing authorization vulnerability that allows authenticated users to read other users' project data via the publishedBuilds and findManyByIds tRPC procedures. Attackers who know another user's project UUID can query the /trpc handler to retrieve publish history, titles, domains, preview images, and latest builds.
