# Sharkord: any signed-in member can replace the server logo

Sharkord before 0.0.26 exposes the others.changeLogo tRPC mutation without checking the MANAGE_SETTINGS permission. Any authenticated member can remove the server logo and upload a replacement that is shown to every connected client.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the installed Sharkord version; affected if below `0.0.26`
- Review whether ordinary member accounts exist on the instance who should not change server settings

## Fix

- Upgrade Sharkord to `0.0.26` or later
- unknown whether a workaround exists before upgrading

## Timeline

- 2026-10-23T21:57:20+00:00 nvd https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-113595

## From the sources

Sharkord before 0.0.26 contains a missing authorization vulnerability in the others.changeLogo tRPC mutation that allows any authenticated member to modify the server logo without the MANAGE_SETTINGS permission. Attackers can remove the current logo and replace it with an uploaded image that is published to every connected client.
