# Apache Syncope: delegated admins can move realms they should not control

A delegated administrator can move a Realm subtree into an administrative realm they have no permission for. This lets them change access boundaries beyond what they were granted.

_Summary, check and fix written by a model from the sources; labelled as such._

## How to check

- Check the installed Apache Syncope version against the affected ranges: `3.0.0-M0` through `3.0.16`, `4.0.0-M0` through `4.0.8`, `4.1.0-M0` through `4.1.3`.
- Look for delegated administrators who can relocate realms in the Syncope admin console or REST API.

## Fix

- Upgrade Apache Syncope 4.0.x to `4.0.9`.
- Upgrade Apache Syncope 4.1.x to `4.1.4`.
- Versions 3.0.x: unknown (the sources list 3.0.16 as affected and give no fixed 3.0 release).

A delegated administrator can relocate a Realm subtree across administrative realm boundaries without permission for the destination
This issue affects Apache Syncope: from 3.0.0-M0 through 3.0.16, from 4.0.0-M0 through 4.0.8, from 4.1.0-M0 through 4.1.3.

Users are recommended to upgrade to version 4.0.9 / 4.1.4, which fix this issue.
